Our work in the community

We believe not only in the value we can create for our clients but also in the value we can add and give back to our local community.

Community 1

There are a number of different organisations that we have supported over the years, volunteering hundreds of hours of time and raising thousands of pounds for projects and good causes.  We believe that every day provides an opportunity to make someone else's world a little brighter and all our team are encouraged and supported in making a difference wherever possible.

Robin Hood Half Marathon

A number of our dedicated staff at Comfort Estates took on the challenge of the Robin Hood Half Marathon this year. After months of intense training, they pushed through and completed the race, all in support of Emmanuel House, a local Nottingham charity that provides meals and vital support to the homeless.

We’re thrilled to share that their efforts helped raise over £2,500 for Emmanuel House, making a real difference in our community. What a great day!

Over £2,500

National 3 Peaks Challenge

A small number of staff decided to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge, tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.  The aim was to try and complete the whole challenge within 24 hours, and despite some challenges, they managed to finish the Snowdon climb stopping the clock at 23:20hrs.  This raised over £2,500 for Open Homes Nottingham.

Over £500

McMillan Coffee Morning

The staff team baked their hearts out and invited clients and local businesses raising over £500 for MacMillan Cancer Support.  In addition, there was a special guest and professional baker - Kate O Shae, owner of Tough Marys Bakehouse - who came and judged the bakes and awarded prizes.  What a great day!

“The Team at Comfort lettings are a fantastic, professional and enthusiastic addition to our busy team of volunteers here at The Arches. They are giving The Arches both practical provision and volunteer support, and we are excited that they are participating with us in this way. They demonstrate a great model and example of how other businesses in the City can get involved in supporting local charities.”

The Arches Nottingham

Our staff have spent 100's of hours volunteering in person providing and paying for kitchen starter packs that go into new homes for clients of the charity.  The starter packs included pots and pans, cutlery and washing-up items (amongst other things). For more information about the Arches, please visit their website.

Snowdon

Over £2,000

Snowdon Sponsored Walk

In 2023 some of our Team raised over £2,000 walking through dismal conditions for Open Homes Nottingham, a charity that provides emergency accommodation for 16-25 year olds.  Despite being June, it was 6 degrees at the top with 50mph winds (and rain).  This was not a trip for the faint-hearted and every penny donated was hard-fought!

Dragon Boat Race

In 2022 our team took to the river Trent in a Dragon Boat race to raise funds for Nottingham University Breast Cancer Research Centre.  Raising over £1,400 for the University of Nottingham Hospitals.  We also won the whole event, but it was not about winning, it was about taking part.
