With its close proximity to the city centre, huge range of housing options and an excellent high street, Mapperley is one of the most popular Nottingham suburbs.

The geography of Mapperley can be somewhat confusing- it’s a large area just North of the city centre with several distinct districts including Mapperley Plains and Park. The main part of Mapperley, off the high street known as ‘Mapperley Top,’ sits high above the city and offers fantastic views.

Eating Out: On Mapperley Top you will find a range of independent and chain restaurants, pubs, takeaways and cafes. This includes a branch of the popular local chains Copper and Birds Bakery, a Costa and Wetherspoons. Other popular offerings include The Old Flower Shop, Passage to India, The Plainsman, Bread and Bitter, Chungs and The Cheesecake Shop.

Shops: Although you won't find a huge range of shops on Mapperley Top, there are certainly all the essentials!  Theer are local supermarkets including Sainsburys and Co-op, charity shops, a post office, several bank branches, hairdressers and beauty salons.  This excellent range should meet all your daily needs, and the city centre is only a short trip down the road for a more extensive choice.

Schools: Mapperley is a popular family area and there are several great schools and nurseries such as Huntingdon Academy, Sycamore Academy, Walter Halls and St Augustine’s.

Transport: If you’re in the Mapperley Park area the city is a short 20-minute walk away, but any further up the hill and you might want to hop on the bus! Regular busses run down Woodborough road and will get you in to the city in around 15 minutes.
