Nottingham to the North Pole: Comfort Estates Smashes the Challenge

At Comfort Estates, we believe in going the extra mile – and in this case, thousands of them! Our team set out on a mission: to collectively cover the equivalent distance from Nottingham all the way to the North Pole. That’s an incredible 2,559 miles completed through running, walking, cycling, and swimming.

This wasn’t just about fitness or teamwork. Every mile was in support of Emmanuel House, a vital Nottingham charity that provides shelter, hot meals, and life-changing support for people facing homelessness. Our target was simple yet ambitious: £1 for every mile travelled, aiming to raise £2,559. During this month our team also volunteered to serve breakfast to the homeless at the shelter which was an incredibly rewarding task.

The challenge was tough. At the halfway point we still had almost 50% of our fundraising target left to reach, and there were times it looked like we might fall short. Despite this, the team stayed committed, putting in the effort every day through running, walking, cycling, and swimming to keep building up the miles and closing the gap.

As part of the challenge we also teamed up with Virgin Active Nottingham, who supported us with their brilliant facilities and community spirit. From hosting a brilliant run club session to keeping the team fuelled with healthy post-workout smoothies, they played a key role in helping us stay motivated and push through the miles.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and the relentless effort of our team, we didn’t just reach our goal, we surpassed it! We completed the full 2,559 miles and raised an amazing £2,749 in total.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, supported, and cheered us on throughout the challenge. Your contributions will directly help tackle homelessness in Nottingham and make a real difference in people’s lives.

And of course, none of this would have been possible without our dedicated Comfort Estates team, who gave their all to rack up the miles and cross the finish line together.

The Nottingham to North Pole Challenge may be complete, but our commitment to supporting our community continues. This achievement has shown us what’s possible when we come together with a shared goal, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish next.
